Mymensingh

Architects in Mymensingh.

We have designed three significant buildings in Mymensingh: the Silicon Heights mixed-use development at Ganginar Par, the M.A. Matin Public Library beside the lake, and the Dapunia Bazar Mosque. Each responds to Mymensingh’s low-rise fabric and climate rather than importing a Dhaka tower.

Areas: Mymensingh city, Ganginar Par, Dapunia and the wider district.

Services: architectural design, interior design, 3d visualisation, landscape & lighting, project supervision.

Fees: indicative per-sft rates are on our design fees page.

Interiors: flat and home interior design in Mymensingh.

Silicon Heights — Ganginar Par, Mymensingh

A mixed-use development of 37,220 square metres at Ganginar Par, combining ground-level retail with residential floors above — two programmes that need to share a site without sharing a front door. The commercial volume is pulled out to the street corner as a curved, double-height glazed podium, so the shopfronts get the footfall and the visibility while residential access is kept separate and quieter to the side. Above the podium the massing splits into slender blocks rather than one continuous slab, which keeps daylight and cross-ventilation reaching the inner units and stops the development from presenting a single flat wall to Mymensingh's low-rise fabric. One block is given over almost entirely to projecting balconies; the other reads as a quieter punched-window facade, so the two are legible as separate addresses from the street. Detailing is deliberately restrained at this scale — pale stone cladding, exposed concrete columns at the podium, a timber-lined soffit over the entrance to warm the arrival, and a deep overhang carrying the curtain wall clear of the shopfronts to shade them through the day.

Dapunia Bazar Mosque — Mymensingh, Bangladesh

An 8,000 square foot mosque for the Dapunia Bazar community, built in brick detailed to sit comfortably alongside the surrounding bazaar rather than stand apart from it. Perforated screens filter harsh daylight into the prayer hall and let hot air escape at high level, keeping the space usable through the day without mechanical cooling. The structural expression is deliberately plain — the ornament is in the bond pattern and the light it throws.

M.A. Matin Public Library — Mymensingh, Bangladesh

A 12,500 square foot municipal library organised around transparency, with expansive glazing placing the reading floors in direct visual dialogue with the adjacent lake. Openness is calibrated rather than absolute: shading depth and orientation protect books and readers from direct sun while keeping the water in view. The building is meant to read as an invitation from the street, lowering the threshold for first-time users.
