Gazipur plots are larger and greener than most of Dhaka, and our work there uses that: a triplex villa built around private green terraces, and a mosque-madrasha complex planned for natural ventilation through the hot season. We work with Gazipur landowners from our Dhaka studio, with site visits as part of the design process.

A private villa of 6,500 square feet, organised as three interlocking volumes that step back to open a private green terrace at each level. The exterior reads as solid geometry from the road and loosens toward the garden side, screening the family's living spaces from the street without closing them off from light. Landscape and architecture were designed together, so the planting reinforces each shift in the massing.
A 9,500 square foot mosque and madrasha complex where prayer and teaching share one site without competing for it. Openings and courtyard placement were resolved for natural ventilation first, so the halls stay usable through Gazipur's hot season with minimal mechanical support. Rhythmic apertures throw shifting light patterns across the interior through the day, giving a plain material palette its depth.
